I have always been an avid fan of the arts. So much so, in my adolescents I even decided on a lifetime career in visual arts and graphic imaging. Fast forward through years of practice in both drawing and imaging, I came to a cross road. I found myself in my second year of my degree as well as going blind. So I had a true choice to make, give up on my dreams of success or find a new path. The only thing I didn’t realize at the time is that my inner drive would never allow me to fold. After a year of surgeries in hopes to return my vision, I found myself at the end of my cross roads. In darkness I found my light and true passion, music.
Throughout my entire life I have always been told, “people find love when they are no longer looking for it.” This is honestly the first instant I have found it personally to be true. Driving home from an eye appointment with my mother one day, I ended up singing words that came to my mind as if they were meant to be sung. To my amazement my mother asked, “what song is that?” The only response I could think of was, “mine, as soon as I finish it.” Thus began my life and love of music. I have always been a fan, but after dealing with the trials and struggles of developing my own sound, I have determined I prefer being on this end of the spectrum. I have always thought that the art form was the purest form of expression, actually experiencing it firsthand has showed it to be true. Now that I believe it to be true, I feel as if anything is possible.
